Scaling and Production of Microalgae in Open Environments

The pilot-scale microalgae cultivation and scale-up service includes scaling up from controlled laboratory conditions, ranging from 1.5 to 200 liters. Subsequently, scale-up begins in the pilot plant in closed culture systems ranging from 350 to 1,000 liters, and then to open culture systems ranging from 570 to 67 m3.
The scale-up is accompanied by a technical report monitoring cell growth (g/L), parameters (temperature, pH, fv/fm, nutrient consumption (nitrate and phosphate), proximate biomass analysis, and fatty acid profile.
